Woofie - Unlocking costs and benefits

Woofie is a great pet to unlock and is a great asset to your farming gear, but how much does it cost and what’s the best way to unlock it?

The Initial Unlock

To have a chance to get Woofie shards within your standard Pet Summon Crate, you must first unlock the pet. This can achieved a couple of ways; Pet Recruitment Shards, or through the Pet Special Crate. You only require 10 Woofie Pet Shards to unlock it at 0* tier

Pet Recruitment Shards occasionally appear in the in-game shop and occasionally in a pet-themed Battle Pass

If you unlock Woofie through the Pet Special method, you have a 9.1% chance (1 in 11) to roll Woofie and you can receive 2, 3, 5, or 10 pet shards per crate. It is also worth noting that for every 25 crates you open, you are given an additional guaranteed 5 Woofie shards. This means that worst-case scenario it could take up to 27,600 gems (4x 11 opens, and 6x 1 opens) or 30,000 gems (5x 11 opens). I always recommend saving up your gems or pet special keys unlock you’ve got a multiple of 10 as you are given a free 11th crate. On average it takes 20,400 gems to unlock. My calculations will be shown further down in this guide

Tiers

0* Tier - There are no additional benefits from having Woofie unlocked at 0* tier except that you have a chance to receive Woofie shards in your standard Pet Summon Crates

1* Tier - Once Woofie is at the 1* tier, you can unlock the first bonus from Woofie’s Skill Tree. For 50 Rings and 2,500 coins, you can unlock Treat Hound which gives you a slight chance to find Treat stashes throughout your run. Pet treats are vital for upgrading your pet levels. The average cost from 0* tier to 1* tier is an extra 40,600 gems.

This is heavily offset by using the free pet summon keys obtained through various methods such as; the weekly advert, maximum of 2 per week from the Pet Rescue events, Ad Mega Chest, and rewards from other events

2* Tier - At the 2* Tier, you can unlock either (or both) of the branches of the 1* Skill Tree. The top route costs 100 Rings and 5,000 coins, and gives you Pet Cup - The Merchant always has a treat offer. The bottom route also costs 100 Rings and 5,000 coins, and gives you Heavenly Treats - The Angel has a free treat offer once per run. The average cost from 1* to 2* is an extra 61,000 gems. Again, this can be offset from various methods as listed above

3* Tier - At the 3* Tier, you can unlock the next stages of the Skill Tree (as long as you’ve unlocked the previous Skill Tree bonus). The top route gives you Gem Hound - Slight chance to find gem stashes. This one is highly appealing as you can slowly recoup the gems you have spent unlocking each tier of Woofie. Just note that progress is slow and some runs you may receive no gems. The bottom route gives you Coin Hound - Slight chance to find coin stashes. Each route costs you 200 Rings and 10,000 coins. The average cost from 2* to 3* is an extra 81,400 gems

4* Tier - At the 4* Tier, you can unlock the final stage of the Skill Tree for 300 Rings and 20,000 coins, Medal Hound - slight chance to find Pet Medal stashes. Pet Medals are vital for upgrading your pets to levels 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, etc. It is also worth noting that at levels 20 and 50, you receive an all-pet bonus. The average cost from 3* to 4* is an extra 142,400 gems

5* Tier - Upon reaching the 5* tier, you are awarded a +120 Health boost to all of your heroes, an attack boost to Woofie, and the chance to receive super shards as well as 6 Rings per shard found in excess of unlocking 5* tier. The average cost from 4* to 5* is 203,900 gems so therefore most players stop at the 3* or 4* Tier

Purple Star Tiers - All-hero bonuses
• 6* Tier - +40 Attack
• 7* Tier - +150 Health
• 8* Tier - +50 Attack
• 9* Tier - +180 Health
• 10* Tier - +60 Attack

The purple Tiers (6*-10*)are rather dear and slow to progress through so, as you can get Woofie shards through the standard pet summon crates, it is recommended to progress through these tiers naturally instead of forcing your way through them

Gem Cost Calculations

There is a 9.1% chance (1 in 11 chance) to roll Woofie when opening a Pet Summon Crate or Woofie Pet Special Crate

With each crate, you have a 70% chance for 2 shards, 15% chance for 3 shards, 12% chance for 5 shards, and 3% chance for 10 shards. Because of this, you will average 2.75 shards per crate. Upon reaching 25 special pet summon crate opens, you are awarded an additional 5 Woofie shards which effectively brings your average to 2.95 shards per crate. If you’re opening the standard pet summon crates, then your chance remains at 2.75 shards per crate

By choosing the ‘Open 11’ option, you only pay for 10 crates and get the 11th for free. My calculations are based on only choosing ‘Open 11’
